Outdoor Dining Shaped by the Coast
Set at the southern edge of Te Arai Links, Whaitere is a coastal holiday home by Ponting Fitzgerald Architects, designed around the way its owners gather, relax and connect with the landscape.
The architecture opens towards the dunes, fairway and ocean, with board-formed concrete, timber and expansive glazing creating a restrained material palette. The outdoor dining area sits naturally within this composition, sheltered beneath the extended roofline while remaining open to the coastline beyond.
Wolf & South supplied the Point Paralel dining table and dining chairs in a weathered teak finish. The softened timber tone sits comfortably alongside the deck and surrounding landscape, allowing the setting to feel connected to the overall architecture.
The Point Paralel Collection brings together considered proportions, tactile rope detailing and the natural character of teak. Generous enough for family and friends, yet visually quiet against the open horizon, the dining setting supports the relaxed and social way Whaitere was designed to be lived in.
At Whaitere, the weathered finish creates a subtle relationship between the furniture, timber deck and coastal surroundings. This weathered teak finish featured at Whaitere is no longer available in the Paralel collection, which remains available in natural teak.
